This safari is great for those who want to go on a game safari and hike. Mikumi’s scenery offers a tranquil wildlife experience, with regular sightings of Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Antelope, Wildebeest, Eland, Crocodile, Hippo, and Baboon. If your luck is on your side, you will not miss seeing Lions and, eventually, the Leopard. Mikumi is home to around 300 bird species, including the saddle-billed stork, hammer kop, malachite kingfisher, lilac-breasted roller, yellow-throated long claw, battler eagle, and more.

Trip Schedule
Early morning pick you up at the place of stay in Zanzibar and transfer to Stone Town ferry station for the first boat to Dar es Salaam which depart at 7:00 am. On arrival at Dar es Salaam Port, your driver-guide will be ready to pick you up and depart to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 5 hours drive from Dar es Salaam. Hot lunch at Morogoro Town, there after afternoon game drives in Mikumi National Park. Mikumi National Park is Tanzania’s fourth largest National Park and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. Within its 3230 sq. km its set between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the south-east. Mikumi hosts buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons zebras, leopards, crocodiles and Hippos just to mention a few.

The Udzungwa Mountains National Park, which is 1990 sq.kms. Is the first terrestrial National park in Tanzania. It is well known for its biologically diverse forest, with approximately 20 – 30% out of 200 animals and plant species that grow here not found any where in the world. Still it is really beautiful place for hiking. It is one of the top ten forests for bird conservation in Africa. Wildlife: Variety of animal species can be found here, including water buffalo, leopards, elephants, and full of reptiles and snakes and more.
Very early in the morning pick up for a transfer back to daresalam for a boat to Zanzibar, arrive Zanzibar Port and driver will be ready to pick you back to the hotel of your choice in Zanzibar.
